Job Description

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior officer.

Terms and Conditions of Service

  1. Basic Salary                     Kshs.  62,339 - 78,725 PM
  2. House Allowance               Kshs.  16,500 PM
  3. Commuter Allowance         Kshs.   4,000 PM
  4. Leave Allowance                Kshs.   15,000 PA
  5. Annual Leave                             30 working days PA
  6. Medical Cover and other allowances        As provided by the ODPC

Job Specification

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have;

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or
  3. its equivalent qualifications;
  4. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Part I or its equivalent qualifications; and
  5. Proficiency in computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

  1. Processing budgetary supply matters and control of expenditure commitments for the Office;
  2. Evaluating and scrutinizing expenditure proposals and compile information required in the budgetary processes;
  3. Processing annual and revised estimates of recurrent and development expenditures;
  4. Budgeting for donor financed projects, reviewing financial implementation of such projects, and monitoring commitments, expenditures and reimbursements;
  5. Issuing receipts against all cash collections;
  6. Establishing and Maintaining books of accounts in line with the regulations;
  7. Carry out bank and petty cash reconciliation;
  8. Prepare accounting reports and statements;
  9. Make cash payments against approved payments documents;
  10. Collect cash withdrawal from bank and ensure safe custody;
  11. Record fixed asset acquisition and update fixed assets register in the accounting systems;
  12. Ensure timely accounting of imprest warrants and advances;
  13. Enter data relating to suppliers’ invoice/bills, credit notes and debit notes details into the accounting system; and
  14. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
