This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior officer.
Terms and Conditions of Service
- Basic Salary Kshs. 62,339 - 78,725 PM
- House Allowance Kshs. 16,500 PM
- Commuter Allowance Kshs. 4,000 PM
- Leave Allowance Kshs. 15,000 PA
- Annual Leave 30 working days PA
- Medical Cover and other allowances As provided by the ODPC

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have;
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Bachelor’s degree in either Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (Supplies Management option) or Commerce (Supplies Management option) or its equivalent qualifications from recognized and accredited institution;
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce plus a Diploma in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution;
iii. Registration with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies or relevant recognized professional body; and
iv.Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;
- Preparing statutory reports (Direct Procurements, Quarterly reports, Termination of Procurements);
- Monitoring contracts and vendor performance;
- Maintaining an effective stores management system;
- Secretary to the tender opening, processing, evaluation and disposal Committees;
- Carrying out expenditure analysis and preparation of exceptional reports;
- Managing of records of all procurement processes;
- Carrying out market surveys;
- Preparing disposal certificates and disposal reports; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Principal Supply Chain Officer.
