Conference and Events Sales Manager Job Vacancy in Nairobi, Kenya

Position Title: Conference and Events Sales Manager

Our client is a leading champion of Sustainable Event Management (SEM) within the East African region. They help organizations develop and implement SEM Plans in their conferences and business events. They seek to hire a Conference and Events Sales Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for promoting the company and booking events through an aggressive marketing and sales program. In this role, your primary tasks will involve connecting with potential clients and negotiating contracts. This is a performance-based sales position that allows you to capitalize on your own success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage (and fill) the company events calendar and sales goals
  2. Execute all aspects of the sales process; develop measurable sales goals and strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  3. Promote the company’s services to all potential clients
  4. Build and maintain customer relationships
  5. Serve as the company’s primary point of contact for conferences and business events
  6. Negotiate contracts and assist with accounts receivable
  7. Develop promotional materials and sales campaigns to reach new customer segments
  8. Participate in the development and execution of marketing plans and materials.
  9. Liaise with the social media marketing teams to execute creative and engaging marketing campaigns
  10. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  11. Represent the company professionally at various industry events and tradeshows.

Required Specifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, or a related field preferred
  2. Demonstrable experience in event planning 
  3. 3-5 years of sales/event experience in a convention centre, conference hotel, top-level event management company, or international organisation.
  4. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is preferred.
  5. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally
  6. Ability to coordinate various stakeholder interests to deliver exceptional results
