Position Title: Pharmaceutical Technologist

Oasis Healthcare Group Limited is Kenya’s first and largest countrywide fully integrated private healthcare system, registered in October 2015 and born out of the Oasis Group Practice model of health services provision to harmonize the various companies & facilities existing across the country under the Oasis umbrella. Job Summary

The Pharmaceutical Technologist will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, inventory management, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and dispense medications accurately following prescriptions and established protocols.
  2. Assist in compounding, labeling, and packaging medications for inpatient and outpatient use.
  3. Maintain adequate inventory levels by monitoring stock, placing orders, and restocking medications and supplies.
  4. Conduct regular inventory checks, rotate stock, and manage expired medications according to protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, inventory transactions, and patient information in compliance with the regulations.
  6. Prepare reports, labels, and documentation for controlled substances and regulatory compliance.
  7. Offer counselling to patients on medication use, dosage, and potential side effects.
  8. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication orders and resolve any medication-related issues.
  9. Adhere to pharmacy policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant pharmacy environment.
  10. Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications and hazardous materials.

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Diploma in pharmacy
  2. Enrollment certification with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board
  3. 2 years of experience working as a Pharmaceutical Technician in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
  4. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
