Accounts Assistant / Clerk Job Vacancy in Kenya

Our client is an organic beverage manufacturer seeking to hire an Accounts Assistant / Clerk to assist the company’s Accountant with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Process and review financial data and ensure the integrity of information within the financial systems, ledger reconciliation, and data collection as required.
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Create and update expense reports
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases and check spreadsheets for accuracy
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Respond to finance enquiries in person or on the phone
  • Support preparation, Filling & Remittance of monthly statutory deductions in a timely manner i.e. PAYE, VAT, NSSF & NHIF
  • Develop and utilize skills in processing and accounting for accounts payable, receivables, and reporting systems compilation of budget estimates and reports.
  • Assist in Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in debt collection and make journal entries.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual reports and audits.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualification and Skills

  • CPA II
  • Degree or Diploma in BCom, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related course.
  • At least one year experience as an Accounting Assistant / Clerk
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
