Accountant Job Vacancy in Kenya – Organic Beverage Manufacturer

Our client is an organic beverage manufacturer seeking to hire an experienced Accountant responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, management accounts, and budgets and forecast.

The Accountant will process and analyze the financial data of the company and provide financial information to management and will report on costs, productivity, margins, and company expenditures.

He/She will oversee prudent finance functions in the company and adherence to acceptable international accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage receivable accounts procedures, receipting, posting & other revenue, bank reconciliation, and rely customer’s statements.
  • Manage the payable accounts, procurement process, and posting vendor’s invoices, statements, and payments.
  • Liaise with the Director on Petty cash Management and approvals of imprests.
  • Working with external auditors during the audit.
  • Reconciling bank accounts, customers’ accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparation and submission of statutory, VAT, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, NITA, and HELB.
  • Payroll management, data capture, salary accounts bank transfers, and posting of wages journal.
  • Ensuring the existence of and adherence to sound financial controls
  • Supervision of staff and ensuring teamwork across departments, allocating duties for all accounting functions in the department to be done
  • Ensuring accounting codes of practice local and international are followed for compliance.
  • Monitoring preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements to reflect performance for decision making
  • Preparing budgets and cash flow projections. Seek approval of budgets and cash flow projections by the Management
  • Overseeing overall business performance, budgets, revenue and cost outlay per region
  • Monitoring preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements to reflect organization performance for decision making.
  • Designing and implementing the finance strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity in handling company accounts.
  • Developing, training, motivating and evaluating support staff to achieve the highest levels of performance in the department.
  • Identifying, implementing, and benchmarking best practices in management
  • Determining & coordinating reporting and communication requirements on accounting function
  • Scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Develop policies and SOPs on credit control, accounting procedures, finance, IT, and administration aligned to the Finance department.
  • Stock taking and reconciliation
  • Support administrative & HR duties in collaboration with the Management
  • Any other duty assigned to you by the management from time to time.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Commerce-Accounting option or Business-related degree.
  • CPA-K is an added advantage
  • Professionalism & Integrity
  • At least 4 years
