Position Title: Research and Data Analyst
We are seeking to recruit a Research and Data Analyst who will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to support business decision-making and strategy development. Responsible for developing data collection tools, designing electronic data collection systems, and overseeing the entire data processing lifecycle. This role involves hands-on work in creating tools, managing data collection processes, coding and cleaning data, performing analysis, and crafting comprehensive reports. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather and compile data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis
- Conduct thorough desk reviews to gather relevant background information for research projects.
- Synthesize and summarize existing literature, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the research landscape
- Develop research methodologies and frameworks tailored to address specific research objectives.
- Design and develop data collection instruments tailored to research objectives.
- Ensure the tools are reliable, valid, and align with the overall research methodology
- Design qualitative interview guides for focus group discussions (FGDs) and key informant interviews (KIIs) to gather rich and nuanced data.
- Oversee and manage the implementation of data collection activities, ensuring adherence to research protocols.
- Design both quantitative and qualitative research studies, ensuring alignment with research objectives.
- Develop study tools, including surveys, interview guides, and data collection instruments.
- Implement coding systems for qualitative data, ensuring consistency and reliability in the coding process.
- Work collaboratively with the research team to refine coding schemes as needed
- Create electronic data collection systems, utilizing platforms such as mobile data collection apps or web-based forms.
- Ensure the electronic tools are user-friendly, efficient, and capable of capturing relevant data
- Utilize statistical analysis tools and qualitative analysis techniques to analyze collected data.
- Interpret data trends and patterns to derive meaningful insights.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing research findings and insights.
- Develop strategies for effectively disseminating research results to relevant stakeholders.
- Present findings in a clear and accessible manner to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Develop and conduct training sessions for data collectors on proper data collection techniques, tool usage, and adherence to research protocols.
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to maintain data collection quality
- Develop and manage study budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Monitor expenses and financial transactions related to research activities
- Implement data quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected data.
- Conduct regular checks and audits to maintain high data quality standards
- Monitor industry trends and changes, providing timely updates to inform business strategies.
- Develop forecasting models to predict future trends and potential areas of opportunity or risk
- Stay current with advancements in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices
- Perform any other additional duties and tasks assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Diploma in monitoring and evaluation
- Degree in Business Analytics or Computer Science or Statistics or Economics or other related fields.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis tools and data visualization tools.
- Specialized in quantitative data analysis using SPSS, Stata, and adept in qualitative coding with NVivo.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee and coordinate data collection activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to provide right information to customers including problem solving skills
- High level of accuracy, computer literacy and attention to detail
