Position Title: Housekeeping Manager

Oasis Healthcare Group Limited is Kenya’s first and largest countrywide fully integrated private healthcare system, registered in October 2015 and born out of the Oasis Group Practice model of health services provision to harmonize the various companies & facilities existing across the country under the  Oasis umbrella. We currently have facilities in the following counties: Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya, Uasin-Gishu, Kitui, Nairobi, Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, and Kajiado.


Job Summary;

The Housekeeping Manager will lead the housekeeping team in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards throughout the hospital. He/she will oversee the daily housekeeping operations, manage staff, and ensure a sanitary environment conducive to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the housekeeping team, including training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance.
  2. Ensure adequate staffing levels and proper allocation of resources to maintain cleanliness across the hospital premises.
  3. Develop and implement housekeeping protocols, procedures, and schedules to meet hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  4. Coordinate with other departments to schedule cleaning activities, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
  5. Maintain high cleanliness and infection control standards, following established protocols and guidelines.
  6. Conduct regular inspections to assess cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to safety standards.
  7. Manage housekeeping supplies, equipment, and inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels while optimizing budgetary allocations.
  8. Monitor expenses, prepare budgets, and recommend cost-effective solutions for housekeeping operations.
  9. Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
  10. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices in housekeeping services.

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or its equivalent.
  2. At least two years of housekeeping management experience in a hospital environment.
  3. Good understanding of the Infection Control Procedures.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. High customer service attitude.
  6. General business acumen.
