Job Description

  • Identifying potential suppliers: Researching and identifying potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities, and determining which suppliers best meet the organization's needs.
  • Conducting market research: Conducting market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, pricing, and availability of goods and services.
  • Negotiating contracts: Negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure the organization receives the best value for its money, while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Managing procurement processes: Managing procurement processes, including purchase orders, requests for proposals, and requests for quotes.
  • Analyzing spend data: Analyzing spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance: Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships: Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of goods and services.
  • Collaborating with other departments: Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure procurement activities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Monitoring supplier performance: Monitoring supplier performance to ensure delivery of goods and services meet agreed-upon standards.
  • Providing procurement advice: Providing procurement advice to other departments and senior management, and ensuring procurement activities are aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must have a Master’s degree in any of the following; Procurement, Supply chain management, Strategic management or relevant field.
  • Must have professional certification in procurement from a recognized institution.
  • At least 8 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management in either the public sector, private sector or international organizations.
  • Successfully managed at least one assignment on development of procurement and supply chain management strategy in the public, private sector or international organization in the last seven years. Must attach portfolio for work done.
  • Must attach current membership to relevant professional body.
