Our Client, a construction & water well drilling company located in Mogadishu Somalia is seeking to fill the position of Electrical Engineer.
Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Job Safety Analyses for activities.
- Follow up to ensure that Hot works and Cold works (confined space, penetration, work at Height, etc.) have been prepared before work commences.
- Supporting the Business Development and Tender Team in compiling necessary data, rates and documentation for bidding purposes.
- Designing electrical power systems which include electrical distribution systems, power and lighting systems of residential houses, commercial buildings, and housing/office complexes.
- The design requirements shall cover calculations, sizing of cables/wires & over current protection devices, and layout of wiring devices, and electrical equipment in compliance with the applicable electrical code.
- Conducting inspection and testing of electrical installations and preparing as-built drawings of an existing electrical system or newly completed installation.
- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
- Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems recommendations, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Supervising or training project team members.
- Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.

- Completion of projects on time .
Required Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- At least 5 years related work experience.
- Registered/Licensed Electrical Engineer
- Previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions
- Facility management work experience is an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety
precautions, and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance, and Repair of electrical
systems and equipment. - Good organizational, time management, and communication skills with the ability to
exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in CAD and Microsoft Office.
- Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license from Home of Record.
- Journeyman Electrician License.
