Job Title: ASSISTANT DATA COMMISSIONER - ENFORCEMENT

Job Description

An officer at this level will be deployed to head the Enforcement Division for development, review and implementation of the Enforcement strategies.

The officer will be responsible to the Deputy Data Commissioner, Complaints, Investigations and Enforcement.

 Terms and Conditions of Services

  1. Basic Salary                         Kshs. 183,570 - 248,014 PM
  2. House Allowance                   Kshs.  50,000 PM
  3. Commuter Allowance            Kshs. 16,000 PM
  4. Leave Allowance                   Kshs.20,000 PA
  5. Annual Leave                       30 working days PA
  6. Medical Cover and other allowances         As provided by the ODPC
  7. Terms of Service                   Permanent and pensionable
 
Job Specification

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  2. Six (6) years’ experience in a related field, three (3) of which must be in a managerial position;
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized and accredited institution;
  4. Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Public Administration, or their equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution will be an added advantage;
  5. Diploma from Kenya School of Law or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution;
  6. Membership with relevant professional body in good standing;
  7. Certificate in Management Course from a recognized Institution; and
  8. Experience in data protection is an added advantage.

 Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

  1. Prepare and service of enforcement and penalty notices;
  2. Prepare and submit applications to court for preservation order for the expeditious preservation of personal data;
  3. Enforcing penalties for non-compliance by data processors and data controllers;
  4. Obtain and implement the court warrants on premise search;
  5. Issuance of enforcement and penalty notices;
  6. Develop penalty notice database;
  7. Develop guidelines on identifying data to be preserved;
  8. Monitoring and Evaluate preservation of personal data; and
  9. Any other duties assigned by the Deputy Data Commissioner, Complaints, Investigations and Enforcement.
