Dental Clinic Receptionist Job Vacancy in Thika, Kenya

Our Client, a busy dental clinic located in Thika, is seeking to hire a proactive Receptionist with excellent communication and leadership skills.

The successful individual should be able to effectively manage the Reception Area, in a professional manner at all times.

Position Title: Receptionist

Reports to: Managing Director

Role Objective: To ensure the Reception area is always manned and run smoothly every day. These include management of both incoming and outgoing calls, arranging appointments, travel, welcoming visitors and efficiently performing all administrative activities.


  • Ensure the Reception area is well managed, hygienic and presentable at all times.
  • Welcome clients / patients and direct them to the specific section
  • Book patients for their next appointments and reschedule accordingly
  • Call and receive all incoming calls, redirect and record appropriately
  • Prepare insurance claims and bank all cash and cheque receipts daily
  • Manage social media platforms i.e. Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram and direct emails messages to the right persons.
  • Prepare weekly office budget and procure required items on approval
  • Prepare monthly income and expenditure reports
  • Book meetings, travels and take minutes
  • Co-ordinate daily activities efficiently
  • Respond to all non-clinical and operational issues in a timely and professional manner
  • General office activities and duties i.e. parcels, delivery/collection

Qualifications / Education

  • Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or a related course from an accredited institution
  • Professional Secretarial and sales skills is an added advantage e.g. real estate experience
  • At least two (2) years of practical work experience in a similar position.
  • Basic book-keeping and Report Writing ability
  • Competence in MS-Office suite (computer literacy)
