Position Title: Cook
1. Introduction
The KCCB- Catholic Secretariat is the National Administrative, facilitative and Coordinative arm through which the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops implements and co-ordinates various Pastoral programs at the National level and undertakes all those responsibilities which express the mission of the Catholic Church in Kenya.
KCCB – GS is seeking an outstanding, dynamic and results oriented individual to fill the following position.

2. Overall Purpose of the Job
Plans menus and cooks meals according to clients’ preference and diet restrictions.
3. Duties and Responsibilities
a) Develop and plan new menu options and daily specials.
b) Organization of kitchens and all food-related activities, including the preparation, set up presentation and service of food and beverage.
c) Plan and prepare food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and other social events.
d) Maintain stock and inventory of the supplies and goods in the stores and the pantry.
e) Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas, equipment’s and appliances
f) Maintain standards of food storage, rotation, quality and appearance
g) Ensure compliance with applicable health code and regulations
h) Cost effective utilisation of the supply’s
i) Dealing with shopping, grocery in line with the menus and budgets
j) Accident free work environment
k) Time keeping and punctuality
l) Any other duties that may be assigned.
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Certificate in food and beverages production and service or equivalent from a reputable institution
- At least two years’ experience in a similar position
- Good communication skills
- Attention to details
- First Aid Course experience
- Budgeting skills
- Organizational Skills,
- Culinary skills,
- Creativity
5. PERFOMANCE INDICATIORS
Extent of carrying out duties and responsibility in #3 above
6. PERSONAL TRAITS
Must have a very clear idea of the Catholic Social Teachings.
7. JOB GRADE AND REMUNERATION
The position will be placed at Job Grade 2 with a remuneration of Kshs. 568,380 per year
