Our client is a fast growing Pharmaceutical Manufacturing EPZ company.

They are seeking to recruit an Assistant Quality Control Manager to handle their production Quality issues under the supervision of the Quality Control Manager.

Role Summary

Position title: Assistant Quality Control Manager

Reporting to: Quality Control Manager

Location: Nairobi.

Salary offer: 150,000 gross

Placement: Immediate

No of Positions: One (1)

Job Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Approval of all the departmental documents, including written procedures and other documents including amendments
  • Ensure that the stability of the active pharmaceutical ingredients and products is monitored.
  • Take samples, develop procedures and participate in investigation of complaints related to the quality of the products
  • Ensure microbiology tests are carried out in the plant for monitoring of environmental conditions, qualities of the waters for use and other products
  • Approve and monitor suppliers of materials & designate and monitor storage conditions for materials and products.
  • Retain records and relevant QC documents
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with GLP and GMP requirements as per guidelines
  • Inspect, investigate and take samples so as to monitor factors that may affect product quality
  • Ensure microbiology tests are carried out in the plant for monitoring of environmental conditions,
  • Qualities of the waters for use and other products.
  • Inspect, investigate and take samples so as to monitor factors that may affect product quality.
  • Conduct investigation for out of specifications and recommend corrective measures if necessary.
  • Participate in quality inspections/audits.
  • Ensure status label, storage and destruction of any rejected materials
  • Wear or use protective equipment or clothing provided for the purpose of preventing risk to personal safety and health.
  • Report any situation which would present hazard and which would be difficult to correct.
  • Report any accident or injury that arises in the course of or in connection with personal work.
  • To prepare weekly/monthly QC report and to submit to Company Pharmacist and CEO
  • Perform any others responsibility as may be assigned by the Company Pharmacist or Management.

Person Specifications (Qualifications, Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Msc- Analytical Chemistry
  • Minimum 10 years work experience working in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company
  • Exceptional analytical ability towards solving Quality-related concerns;
  • Proficiency in quality control
  • Good interpersonal skills, detail to work and knowledgeable in all matters pertaining to the profession
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills;
  • Preferably local Asians but local Kenyans are also eligible to apply and be shortlisted
