Our client is a fast growing Pharmaceutical Manufacturing EPZ company.

They are seeking to recruit an Assistant Production Manager to streamline production under the supervision of the Production Manager.

Role Summary

Position title: Assistant Production Manager

Reporting to: Production Manager

Location: Nairobi.

Salary offer: 150,000 gross

Placement: Immediate

Job Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Ensure implementation of production activities/plan according to production scheduling.
  • Planning, implementing and monitoring of technological changes to enhance productivity.
  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly production plans, effectiveness of production plans and efficiency reports in consultation with the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure production processes and storage complies with batch production requirement and other GMP conditions.
  • Ensure achievement of desired yield of each product and minimize losses during operations.
  • Efficiently manage inventory levels, for ensuring ready availability of material to meet production dispatch target at economical storage costs by trend and historical data analysis.
  • Maintain GMP and good documentation practices in production.
  • Ensure overall supervision of production staff.
  • Co-ordinate recruitment, deployment, appraisal, training, discipline and promotion of production staff.
  • Approve written procedures and other documents including amendments.
  • Monitors and control manufacturing process and environment.
  • Enforce the observation of hygiene and sanitation in the plant supplemented with data capturing.
  • Participate in quality audits and inspections.
  • Identify staff training needs and carry out personnel training including the application and principles of quality assurance.
  • Ensure trouble shooting of production process or whenever necessary.
  • Designate and monitor storage conditions for materials, semi-finished and products.
  • Retain records of relevant documents.
  • Perform any others responsibility as may be assigned by the Company Pharmacist or Management.

Person Specifications (Qualifications, Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Msc- Analytical Chemistry
  • Minimum 10 years work experience working in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company
  • Exceptional analytical ability towards solving Quality-related concerns;
  • Proficiency in quality control
  • Good interpersonal skills, detail to work and knowledgeable in all matters pertaining to the profession
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills;
  • Preferably local Asians but local Kenyans are also eligible to apply and be shortlisted
