Job Purpose: Responsible for the overall growth of the branch as well as day to day responsibilities, including sales & marketing, stock management, debt management, market share, product growth & brand development, increased revenue & profits and overall administration.

The branch services the jurisdiction between Moi’s Bridge from Eldoret, whole of Trans Nzoia (Kitale, Kimilili, Kiminini, Kichwele, Cheranganyi some parts of Bungoma town), whole of West Pokot; and is responsible for both the battery and solar business.

The branch has a team of around 5-6 staff and is require to grow the business through the dealer networks, relationship management, improved service delivery e.t.c.

Additionally, the Branch Manager is required to gather market intelligence and give management advise based on the same and other growth strategies.

It would be an added advantage for the ideal candidate to have some experience in solar energy as they shall be responsible for Solar growth in the market as well as have prior experience of the Rift Region for ease of market navigation.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Management of available resources, including personnel, fixed and movable assets and stocks.
  • Management of the Branch operation in line with projected growth and in a cost- effective way, adhering to budgets.
  • Meet and exceed annual Battery and Solar sales targets.
  • Monitor and analyze sales, product & market trends, updating the management on a monthly basis.
  • Proactively identify and secure new business, ensuring retention of the same
  • Tracking of lost business (customers) and starting afresh, within timely service recovery.
  • Constantly seek to improve the level of customer service and effectiveness at the Branch.
  • Ensure compliance of all Customers Service Standards
  • Attend to all customers’ requirements and/or complaints effectively, giving feedback with minimal delays
  • Updating customers on new products, pricing, special offers and services available, through weekly visits, phone calls and/or emails
  • Operate very strictly within the company’s credit policies for which you are expected to be completely familiar with
  • Ensure all cash sales received are banked intact and as per set rules
  • Adherence to all sales and credit policies
  • Present monthly sales reports to the Sales Manager and update the Management on market trends and competitors’ activities, ensuring we are ahead of the competition
  • Monitor the stock movement for both battery & Solar, ensuring that the Branch does not experience an out-of-stock situation.
  • Give necessary sales projection reports to ensure procurement in good time
  • Report unwarranted behaviours which may cause damage/losses to the company
  • Maintain high standards of self and work discipline, co-ordinate your activities well with both your superior and workmates, while observing good interpersonal relationship.
  • Participating in any other duties that shall be reasonably assigned by management

Qualifications & Relevant Experience


  • A university degree in a business-related field, Engineering/ Renewable Energy,
  • Strong experience in end-to-end solar sales (sizing, site surveys, quotations)
  • 3-4 years’ experience in sales and marketing department


  • Product knowledge on both batteries and solar components.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft office applications is a MUST
  • Extensive Navision ERP system knowledge/ experience and user ability such as HFM reporting and consolidation process.
  • Unquestionable integrity levels
  • Good command of written English and Kiswahili languages
