Position Title: Pharm Tech

Description

Our client is seeking to fill in the position of a Pharm Tech in a dialysis and chemo center.

Responsibilities

  • Help health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed medications and supplies, place and expedite orders, verify receipts and minimize expiry of drugs. Submit closing stock end of month.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Organize medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescription, preparing labels, calculating quantities, assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies
  • Generates revenues by calculating, recording and issuing charges
  • Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ensure that the drugs so purchased by the company’s procurement team will be entered in the software system with complete details and guide the team to ensure proper data is fed.
  • Ensure that all medications requiring VAT to be charged are billed accordingly
  • Liaise with registration and billing to ensure that no bills are missed to be paid or charged.
  • Ensure the license is upto date.
  • Ensure smooth procurement of medication with minimum number of vendors.

Qualifications

Education: Pharmacy degree or equivalent in pharmacy from a recognized institution with an additional training in supply chain management and must be enrolled by the pharmacy and poisons board of Kenya.

Work Experience: 4-5 years’ experience in managing Humanitarian health commodities preferably those with an experience in handling large volumes of health commodities in the humanitarian setups is preferable.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated success as a humanitarian health commodity manager.
  • Good collaborator and influencer with effective interpersonal and analytical skills of working seamlessly across cultures, organizational units.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in supply chain planning, Forecasting and quantification of health commodities.
  • Excellent in computer MS-Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good analytical and negotiation skills.
