Position Title: Credit Controller

Job Function: Ensure accurate and on-time collection of customer debt in alignment with predefined work objectives. Maximize collections and minimize the risk to Imperial and its Clients. Manage debtors as per the Client SLA. Optimize cash flow and resolve queries within the time frame as set out by Imperial and the Client SLA.

Key Performance Areas

  • Send out customer statements on time and proactively follow up to ensure receipt of statements by the customer.
  • Resolve all disputed balances before the invoice due date.
  • Update customer accounts by posting customer payment Debtors Management
  • Analyze the debtors open line items to ensure that the outstanding debt is within the customers trading terms.
  • Process non-stock debit and or credit notes (DA) on the day of receipt.
  • Check if CRM has been raised for order on hold. Update CRM to the relevant Business and Finance manager.
  • Monthly Debtors meeting. Prepare full and comprehensive debtors report.
  • Participate in the implementation of departmental and site EMS objectives.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or any related field
  • Certified Public Accountant CPA (K)

Skills and experience required

  • Analytical skills, attention to detail.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting or credit control.
  • Knowledge and experience in local finance regulations
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Budgetary and financial skills.
  • Decision–making, problem-solving, creativity.
  • Acquired good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand business process and be able to interpret business needs.

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Positive, confident, self-motivated, and able to work as a member of a team.
