About the Client:

A market leader in the manufacture of Steel and Plastic construction materials with a far-reaching influence across the East and Central African region, having grown synonymously with the construction sector in the region both in scale and scope. The firm is well known for its sustainable business practices, best quality and biggest variety of its product range, and the protection of our environment. The firm seek to hire a CCTV Operator who will operate and monitor all systems and operations, within the control room in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information obtained.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and manning of the security control room.
  • Provide monitoring and coverage of events and activations taking place in the company’s business premises.
  • Ensure smooth/ uninterrupted operations of CCTV and other electronic surveillance/alarm systems.
  • Maintain a secure system for providing data in accordance with the procedures established by the company and ensure the security of the control room and equipment is maintained at all times.
  • Report equipment failure to the security officer and / or security manager to maximize operation of the system.
  • Ensure consistent recording / back-up of CCTV footage and maintain the provision of information required by the HR Manager.
  • Actively monitor activities in all areas covered by CCTV within the company’s business premises and ensure all the visual images are up to standard in compliance with data protection law.
  • Control and maintain records and logs of all reportable incidents captured in the CCTV.
  • Maintain a chain of custody of all retrieved CCTV footage evidence.
  • Monitor and critically analyze and report all suspicious activities in liaison with other security and law enforcement teams within the company business premises.
  • In liaison with the ICT technical team, prepare CCTV footage reports during incidents.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A University graduate or equivalent qualification.
  • A background from the disciplined forces with proven knowledge of crime or fraud detection.
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience in security management and law enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to work odd/irregular hours.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
