Position Title: Manager - Policy Analysis, Coordination and Advocacy

The Capital Markets Authority is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing an efficient capital market in Kenya.

The Authority invites applications from qualified candidates for the following positions:

Grade 4

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Policy and Regulatory Framework, the Manager Policy Analysis, Coordination and Advocacy is responsible for coordinating Policy analysis, formulation, and implementation.

This is a position under permanent and pensionable terms of service.

Job Responsibilities

1) Overseeing evidence-based policy analysis and formulation to support overall capital market development and regulation;

2) Coordinating development of various policy frameworks for new products, services and market infrastructure to inform regulatory reforms;

3) Designing, developing and implementing an advocacy strategy and programme to ensure adoption of capital market policy proposals;

4) Overseeing the periodic monitoring and evaluation of policy submissions and periodic advocacy interventions and to facilitate stakeholder buy-in and adoption;

5) Developing periodic policy briefs and advisories to update stakeholders of the policy positions of the Authority and its strategic partners to draw their support through
strategic influence;

6) Establishing relationships with key policy makers including relevant parliamentary committees, National Treasury, Attorney General to support efficiency in the policy and legislation processes;and

7) Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to integrate policy and advocacy into the Authority’s communications strategy.

Minimum Requirements

a) Bachelors Degree in Economics/Business/Finance/Policy or other relevant field;

b) Relevant Master’s Degree;

c) At least six (6) years of relevant work experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position;

d) Member of professional body in good standing where applicable; and

e) Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks is an added advantage.
