Position Title: Junior Accountant

Our client is a start-up founded by technology enthusiasts with more than 30 years’ experience in the data centre industry across the world.
They have recently received their series B funding and are looking at expanding their team.
They seek to hire a competent professional Junior Accountant who will actively participate in maintaining the financial health of the company through day-to-day management of financial transactions and procedures.
The job holder should have working knowledge of financial account management, maintenance of general ledgers, fiscal compliance, audits, invoicing, financial reporting and vendor management.
Financial Accounting
- Balance and maintain accurate ledgers in ZohoBooks
- Reconcile cash and bank entries with deposits and expenses on a daily basis
- Ensure all transactions have the necessary supporting documents which are stored
- (i) in ZohoBooks attached to the relevant transaction
- (ii) in Zoho Workdrive and
- (iii) where applicable for physical files
Invoicing
- Ensure that customers are invoiced timely and accurately via ZohoBooks
- Ensure that customer payments are matched to customer invoices accurately in ZohoBooks
- Ensure that accurate customer statements of accounts are prepared to assist with collections
Vendor Management
- Onboard vendors as per company procedures on to ZohoBooks
- Prepare Purchase Orders
- Strictly enforce the “No PO, No Payment” policy
- Prepare and match invoices with purchase orders
- Obtain confirmatory statement of accounts from vendors where applicable
- Prepare vendors payment
- Ensure vendors are paid on time
Customer reporting
- Assist Sales Operations to prepare reports for customers, such as quarterly customer billing overviews
- Assist Operations team to provide reports on expenses from Operations
Reporting
- Prepare reports on monthly activities
Teamwork
- Work with your Finance colleagues in other countries to develop the Finance function further
- Engage pro-actively with your colleagues to make improvements in the Finance function
- PAIX is a young company. Help your colleagues as needed
Learning and development
- Continuously strive to develop your own understanding of the finance role, in order to develop your skills and know-how
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related course from a recognized university
- CPA certification
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a fast paced work environment
- Proficient in ZohoBooks or equivalent of the same
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Computer Literacy: Microsoft Packages
- Experience using financial software
- Knowledge of financial regulations
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Sharp time management skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
