Supply Chain Specialist – Laboratory Job Vacancy in Kenya - Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies

Position Title: Supply Chain Specialist – Laboratory

Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is to provide reliable and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health Systems Strengthening Services MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread all over Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.

MEDS has entered into a Contract with USAID Kenya and East Africa named USAID Supply Chain Strengthening. The purpose of the contract is to obtain efficient, reliable and accountable supply chain management services for the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of health commodities for HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Maternal/Neonatal/Child Health (MNCH) and Global Health Security (GHS) activities for patients across all 47 Counties in Kenya for adequate care, treatment and prevention for communicable diseases and other health needs. MEDS seeks to recruit a Supply Chain Specialist - Laboratory for this Project:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaising with various Partners and Ministry of Health Programs for effective supply chain execution.
  2. Forecasting of programme commodities for Laboratory supplies
  3. Supply pipeline monitoring for adequacy of programme commodities
  4. Supply Chain capacity building to the service delivery points and Counties
  5. Supply chain monitoring and evaluation to ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  6. Prepare Supply Chain reports for information and decision making
  7. Performance management to ensure achievement of activity objectives and targets for the team

Candidate Profile:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Science with additional Supply Chain Training
  2. Registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board
  3. 3 years’ experience in Programme Supply Chain management
  4. Previous experience in USAID funded projects an added advantage.
