Head, Business Systems Job Vacancy in Kenya - Amref Health Africa

Position Title: Head, Business Systems

JOB PURPOSE

The key role of the Head, Business Systems is managing development, support, and maintenance of the Customer Relationship Management System(s) (CRM), both cloud-based and on premise. S/he will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the business needs and proposing technology innovations in line with Amref Health Africa strategy. In addition, the role will be the gate keeper in terms of software quality control and assurance in partnership with other ICT departments, business owners and key stakeholders (internal and external).

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of all CRM related initiatives across the globe and within the Amref Enterprises in Nairobi.
  • Professionally manage the team of software developers (shared resources)
  • Align business systems to the overall Amref Health Africa strategy and plan with Amref Health Africa's business goals;
  • Optimize information management through an understanding of evolving business needs and technology capabilities;
  • Promote shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flow;
  • Provide enterprise solutions that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever-changing business needs.
  • Manage information risk assets through appropriate standards and security policies;
  • Develop policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology for Amref Health Africa;
  • Build employee knowledge and skills in acquired software’s specific areas of expertise;
  • Leverage industry best practices to govern and manage software services and subscriptions;
  • Reduce software and support costs by negotiating volume contract agreements and eliminating or reallocating underutilized software licenses;
  • Limit overhead associated with managing and supporting software by streamlining and/or automating IT processes;
  • Establish ongoing policies and procedures surrounding the acquisition, documentation, deployment, usage and retirement of software in an effort to recognize long-term benefits;
  • Work with other subject matter experts to obtain critical information required for the management and support of Amref-supported software;
  • Manage software project scoping, development and implementation;
  • Advise and support on software project implementation for various software development projects in Amref;
  • Analyse and provide most economical solutions to acquisition and implementation of software;
  • Coordinate the technology innovations by programs through participation in proposal writing for technology innovations and designing the implementation plan for the technology innovations;
  • Advise and support programs on suitable technology solutions that enhance efficiency in service delivery;
  • Develop policies on information system management based on industry best practices and implement them through the systems administrator;
  • Oversee the documentation of all software under corporate ICT;
  • Develop standard operating procedures for first line support to the service delivery team;
  • Coordinate with infrastructure management on optimization of system performance;
  • Oversee management and maintenance of all websites within Amref.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Master’s Degree in a related field (Business, Computer Science or Information Systems) with a strong bias in Strategy and Business Transformation as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT or related field;
  • Knowledge in large scale systems development on cloud, mobile and web-based platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, supporting and maintaining Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM is key.
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipeline management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira etc

Professional Qualifications/Membership to professional bodies

  • Relevant professional qualification (Dynamics 365, Azure, AWS etc)
  • Accreditation in Agile Methodology in Project Management
  • Member of a relevant professional body

Experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years in senior ICT roles in driving strategy, transformation and data strategy by leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in writing business cases to support strategic and operational business initiatives, continuous process improvement initiatives and transformation.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role with successful delivery of business transformational outcomes.
  • Experience in delivering large scale transformational change projects and ability to convey a compelling and engaging vision for change and providing documentation to a high standard and quality.
