DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely delivering goods at various locations, including over long distances.
- Planning the most efficient routes and delivering goods on time.
- Performing tractor inspections before departure to ensure good running order.
- Inventorying loads and documenting the condition of the goods before departure.
- Assisting in the loading and unloading of goods, and obtaining the client's signature on delivery.
- Securing the goods in place before departure and monitoring its safe distribution throughout the trip.
- Performing service checks on tire pressure, oil, and fluid levels, as well as minor repairs, when required.
- Logging the hours driven, rest stop durations, distances covered, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses.
- Reporting any delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to management.
- Adhering to rules and regulations, including mandatory rest periods, weight restrictions, and weight adjustments.
KEY REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- The applicant must possess Valid PSV, valid good conduct and valid DL (class BCE D1, D2) and a Tractor stamp.
- 5-8 years’ work experience
- Extensive knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Ability to work long hours including holidays and weekends.
- Must be a safety-conscious person.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather condition etc.)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proper documentation of vehicle activities
