We are currently looking for a qualified and dedicated candidate to fill the following position;
Position Title: Nursing Officer In-Charge
Location: Siaya
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for all nursing and nursing-related functions at the Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, update and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to the unit.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the nursing unit and provide quality cost-effective care for the patient population.
- Provide supervision and strategic direction to all the members of the nursing department.
- Manage the departmental budget and develop cost containment strategies within the unit.
- In charge of performance management within the unit.
- Take lead in managing quality improvement and patient safety programs within the facility.
- Facilitate learning opportunities to ensure personal and professional growth of departmental staff.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary committees.
- Participate in the recruitment of the nursing staff.
- Take an active role in bedside nursing.
- Advise management on the best nursing practices.
- Play the link between the nursing unit and other departmental heads.
- Any other duty as may be assigned.
Job Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices
- Good knowledge of the Kenyan Healthcare system.
- Excellent leadership & interpersonal skills.
