Training Institution Business Development & Marketing Manager Job Vacancy in Kenya

Position Title: Business Development & Marketing Manager

Location: Nairobi

Job Summary: Our client is a middle level training institution whose mission is to provide accessible high quality professional and academic training with emphasis on knowledge development and application of emerging socio-economic solutions.

It is committed to developing the human resource required for the management of people at the workplace in both the public and private sectors of the economy.

Our client core business is Human capital development through training and capacity building.

The College has ambitious plans to grow its portfolio business in non-academic capacity building programs in HR and business related areas.

It is in this regard that our client is now seeking to recruit a Business Development & Marketing Manager.

Reporting Date: 1st January 2023

Key Outputs: – We are looking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced, self-driven, dynamic and results-oriented individual.

Reporting to the Principal and supervising a team of marketing and sales people.

The Business Development Manager will be required to:

1. Program, design, development and Review (Executive programs)

  • Analysis of market trends and potential opportunities for executive training programs
  • Responsible for forecasting and demand planning for programs
  • Develop and review annual executive programs training calendar
  • Work closely with Head of Programs to support in research and development of new products / programs.

2. Budgeting and Budget Control

  • Prepare, implement and manage the organization annual marketing and executive training budgets.
  • Liaise with Finance for optimal pricing of the programs
  • Preparations of return on investment for programs
  • Work closely with Finance to facilitate timely collection in line with trade agreements.

3. Marketing and sales Management

  • Develop and implement the organization Marketing Strategy
  • Undertake and drive aggressive marketing activities to increase demand for the Organisation’s Academic / Professional, Open and in-house training programs.
  • Carry out aggressive marketing activities to increase demand for HR Consultancy assignments that meet the needs of target clients.
  • Formulate market segmentation plan to increase geographical penetration and reach.
  • Manage Develop and measure marketing and sales team through regular appraisals.
  • Development of College and Programs promotional materials and resources.
  • Drive recruitment of students and conversion

4. Brand Management

  • Development and implementation of branding/marketing materials to enhance visibility.
  • Develop and manage our organisation brand manual/Brand book

5. Advisement and Media Management

  • Management of digital, print, outdoor and electronic Media functions
  • Management of Public relations and Communication
  • Seek and build third part media endorsement

6. Partnerships and Linkages

  • Seek partnerships and linkages for business development
  • Work with CHRM partners for the success of partnership ventures

7. Management and reporting

  • Coordinate the execution of executive trainings.
  • Manage the departmental staff
  • Timely submission of departmental reports

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business management with specialization in Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position at a training institution
  • Added advantage: Professional qualification in human resource management
  • Experience in design and development of training programs
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Self-motivated with a passion to succeed
  • Excellent organizational and negotiation skills
  • Team leadership and interpersonal skills
