Position Title: Sales & Marketing Manager

The Organisation: Our client, a registered private tertiary medical training institution and regulated by TVETA, is currently seeking to hire an experienced Sales & Marketing Manager.

The Position: Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales & Marketing manager will be responsible for providing strategic Sales & Marketing management advisory support to the organization in support of the student journey and experience, and overall market positioning.

Success in this role will be judged by the College’s ability to recruit quality students, achieve consistent revenue growth, and enter into strategic partnerships in line with set targets.

The ideal candidate will also be part of the Senior Management Team and will work closely with other senior executives across the college to share best practice in support of broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of a marketing and recruitment strategy for our College, ensuring all activity is in line with our broader brand and growth strategies.
  • Lead on the creation of an annual Sales & Marketing plan for the College, with clear deliverables and KPIs.
  • Work in close liaison with senior colleagues across our organization to ensure the College benefits from impactful, strategy-led activities across Campaigns, Outreach, PR and Events.
  • Establish an intelligence-led approach to all planning and delivery, utilizing market research and data analysis to ensure tactics are in line with the business needs and strategic ambitions of the College.
  • Utilize intelligence plus Sales & Market insights to support the strategic development of the Colleges’ academic programs.
  • Play a full, active and strategic role in the College Senior Management Teams to report on marketing activity, market research findings, attraction and conversion activities, and to advise on appropriate tactical changes as necessary.
  • Manage the sourcing of relevant market intelligence to inform planning, working with colleagues and external agencies as required
  • Manage the College’s marketing budget, ensuring spend is appropriately planned and monitored.
  • Line management responsibility for the College Marketing team, setting objectives and monitoring progress against them, managing workflow, supporting development and delivering effective annual appraisals.
  • Lead the College marketing team through embedding a culture of continuous improvement which encourages team members to question the norms, try new things and be innovative and creative in their approach.
  • Take the lead with College academic and support colleagues to ensure they play a proactive and impactful role in supporting student recruitment and other business objectives.
  • Be a proactive member of the College-wide Marketing & Communications Leadership Team, sharing knowledge, best practice, and experience with colleagues to further build and improve broader
  • Sales & Marketing activities.

The Candidate

Experience & Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related business course.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrable experience and success in a marketing manager level role, (preferably in a leading college or university).
  • Experience in creating departmental marketing strategies and operational plans to support specific business objectives and targets
  • Planning within defined resources and delivering to set objectives successfully
  • Supporting the creation of publications, Leaflets and other marketing material.

Technical Competencies

  • Experience in Digital marketing, including website development and social media activities.
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google AdWords campaigns and solid knowledge of website analytics tools e.g., Google Analytics
  • Excellent creative skills including copywriting and an innovative approach to marketing campaigns.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver a comprehensive marketing program that achieves results
