About the position

The Senior Platform Associate will be part of a team that provides general coordination and operational support along the Use Case initiation, development, testing and validation, and scaling activities of developed minimum variable products.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Scope, Initiate and design, launch and maintain, the global One Stop Shop for Agronomy Solutions Platform.
  • Support Regional Team Leads to initiate, launch, and maintain the Regional One Stop Shop Platforms across 6 CGIAR Regions
  • Work with Use Case Teams, Communities of Practice to identify and appropriately package validated tools, approaches, methodologies for hosting and sharing information on the project Platform.
  • Initiate and package impact testimonials from the field and host these on the project Platforms.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the projects, advocacy and campaigns strategy, systems, and guidelines
  • Support the impactful planning and implementation of advocacy and campaigns actions at regional and global level
  • Support and represent the project in regional and global, advocacy actions as needed or requested, contribute to administrative, financial and communication tasks, preparing and reviewing internal documents, participate in internal meetings and team dynamics.
  • Plan for and organize global and regional events to promote Agronomy at Scale by sharing learnings and impact.
  • Initiate discussions with other platforms that host agronomy support tools and develop structured collaborations with them.
  • Identify and facilitate the planning and execution of multi partner advocacy and campaigns actions (fora, conferences, workshop, etc.) co-hosted with the project at regional and global level
  • In collaboration with the Communications Lead, MELIA, and programs team, regularly develop and disseminate key advocacy messages resulting from the project
  • Contribute to preparation of monthly reporting and contribute to the Annual Global reports

Requirements:

  • Relevant University degree in Agronomy or any other related field. A Masters’ degree would be an added advantage.
  • Three to five years of work experience in a similar role, preferably in an international non-profit & non-governmental setting.
  • Experience in working with agricultural development programmes.
  • Understanding and work experience in the development and deployment of digital tools in agriculture.
  • Knowledge and experience in programme management and coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience in interacting with project teams in multiple contexts
  • A working understanding of innovation systems and their management.
  • Capability to take part in Scaling Readiness Training to Associate Certification.
  • Report writing skills, and ability to communicate in English
  • Competence in computer skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse teams.
