Positon Title: Operations Manager
Industry: USA-based premium dog breeding
Location: Karen, Nairobi Office
Gross Salary: Ksh 100,000 – Ksh 150,000
Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to join their team.
The Operation Manager will be tasked with providing leadership for the operations of the company.
They will provide direction and supervision over production.
The position involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inspired leadership within the organization. Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions. Oversee operations reporting, planning, and auditing.
- Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Report to the executive team to implement company vision, values, and mission within operations.
- Plan for short and long-term goals, and execute accordingly.
- Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
- Support worker communication with the management team.
- Manage and provide day-to-day oversight of the production team and production locations.
- Train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
- Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
- Plan and review compensation actions; enforce policies and procedures with employees.
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. Prepare and complete action plans. Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Resolve problems, complete location audits.
- Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
- Work closely with the inventor and manager and team to perform an analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reduce expenses.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field.
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a production manager.
- Proficiency in management, operations, leadership, conflict resolution, organization, decision making, communications, delegation, persuasiveness, teamwork, stress tolerance, and problem solving.
- Solid understanding of financial management and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
- Ability to build harmony and relationships among the executive team, managers, and employees.
- Willingness and drive to learn quickly and become proficient in a unique field of work: the breeding and selling of premium puppies in the United States.
- Must be a fast learner, highly self-motivated, capable of producing high-impact work without supervision, adaptable, and self-confident.
- Creative mind that can solve problems and come up with ideas to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Mental and emotional fortitude to thrive in a fast pace, high production, performance driven environment.
- Required to work on a USA business hours work schedule, working afternoons to late evenings in Kenya time.
