Our client in vegetable oil extraction, is seeking to recruit a Certification Expert.
Successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance of the whole value chain to the requirements of ISCC EU Biofuels-Certification.
Cross Functional Interaction & Responsibilities:
- Work together with company’s logistics and Production teams, to ensure that certified seeds and oil are managed correctly according to certification requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with the colleagues of company’s spa (Headquarter in Italy) to align on certification requirements and updates.
- Maintain regular communication with company’s suppliers and buyers, in order to have a smooth sourcing and sale of certified product.
- Maintain regular contacts with the certification body.
Main accountabilities and Responsibilities
Make sure that Eni Kenya’s suppliers are compliant to certification requirements, by supporting them on the following activities:
- Performance of Risk assessment using GRAS online tool for wards
- New farmers are correctly registered (mandatory registration documents are present and correctly filled in) product coming from non-registered farmers and product coming from HIGH Risk wards is labelled as NON-SUSTAINABLE receipts of payment, weighbridge tickets and transport documents are correctly filled in and archived.
- a product inventory (mass balance) of incoming and outgoing products is regularly and correctly filled in on Excel Training ISCC Certification principles of sustainable farming to farmers, field officers, WAO’s, Village heads and Cooperative’s Chairmen Train and inform staff (both of Eni Kenya and Eni Kenya’s suppliers) on the sustainability tools that the organization decides to adopt.
- Keep an UpToDate product inventory (mass balance) of incoming and outgoing certified products for ENI Kenya
- Verify that Eni Kenya’s logistic team correctly filles in and archives: receipts of payment, weighbridge tickets, transport documents and Sustainability Declarations
- Regularly update the documents and procedures present in the Sustainability Management System of Eni Kenya
- Make sure that non-sustainable product are correctly accounted for
- Organizes and manages the audits required for certification
- Stakeholder relations skills, with particular reference to local communities.
- General Management tasks.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Prior experience on Sustainability certification and/or Quality management systems and/or ISO Standards (i.e. Ecocert, GlobalGAP, Fairtrade…)
- Candidate should have degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Engineering or Natural Sciences. or the relevant qualifications or any other relevant field.
- Minimum experience of 3 years in a similar role or field.
- Previous experience in quality certification as a quality manager or auditor is essential.
other certification schemes. - Experience in agricultural and agroforestry development projects, analysis of existing supply chains and production potential of agricultural biomass also for industrial use.
- Ability to design and manage large-scale agricultural and agroforestry interventions.
- Knowledge of agricultural and agro-forestry production systems, with particular reference to contract farming mechanisms and/or agro-industrial initiatives
- Knowledge of certification processes regarding production traceability, sustainability, calculation of GHG emissions
- Interpersonal skills, teamworking and management coordination.
- Candidate needs to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Candidate should have a network of relevant contacts to assist in job performance.
- Candidate needs to be proficient in Ms Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
