The East Africa Regional Office, operating in nine countries of East Africa namely; Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda is looking for a Temporary Resource Development Analyst to work in its Nairobi office for a duration of Six months.

The Resource Development Analyst will support the Resource Development team in creating and implementing resource acquisition Global Hunger Response data management system tracking 4UN+ acquisitions in collaboration with the DM-IMR Unit.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

TRACK NEW GRANTS ACQUISITIONS

  • Set up appropriate systems and processes for tracking new grant acquisitions funding for 4UN+
    donors that fit within the definitions of the GHR in collaboration with the DM – IMR unit.
  • Track and capture new 4UN+ grant acquisitions funding that fit within the definitions of the GHR.
  • Track and capture program adjustments funding (addendums and amendments) done within ongoing 4UN+ programs for purposes of responding to the hunger crisis.
  • Periodically perform data validation and implement quality control measures to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports to the GHR coordination team monthly.
  • Actively participate in GHR coordination team meetings.
  • Support RD STAs and FOs to trouble shoot on issue related to 4UN+ grants acquisitions

TRACK CHANGES IN PROGRAM IMPACT / OUTCOMES

  • Conduct analysis of the GHR portfolio to establish
    • Source of funding.
    • Funding type.
    • Modalities for resource transfers to beneficiaries.
    • Program sector and programming models.
    • Target beneficiaries.
    • Investments for localization.
  • Track and ensure that all changes in programming and impact (outcomes) are well documented.
  • Conduct analysis of the GHR portfolio to establish the performance compared to forecast and
    acquisitions, and predictability of the funding going forward.
  • Identify program needs based on data collected and analyzed.
  • Produce periodic trend analysis and share with GHR coordination team and other stakeholders.
  • Identify gaps, trends, priorities, key issues and opportunities for program layering and sequencing etc

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, or Accounting or Information technology.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to obtain, organize and analyse data in various formats.
  • At least with some experience in database management.
  • Ability to identify gaps, trends, priorities and key issues.
  • An industrious and resourceful individual with ability to undertake different roles and responsibilities and deliver results without close-supervision.
  • Good communication skills with excellent report writing and presentation skill.
  • Experience Experience in food assistance programming with various donors, particularly WFP and USAID is an added advantage.
