Position Title: Kitchen Steward
Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Location: Peppercorn Holiday Resort & Dove nest Lodge-Naivasha.
Position Summary: We are looking for a hard-working kitchen steward to be responsible for ensuring all sanitation standards are met.
The steward will make sure that the kitchen is always tidy and kept clean.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining cleanliness standards by washing dishes, pots, pans, plates, silverware, glassware,
and other items used in cooking or food preparation - Preparing ingredients for cooking by chopping vegetables, grinding meat, extracting juice, and
other tasks as needed. - Monitoring food storage conditions to ensure they are safe and stable
- Assist the Cooks and Servers as and when necessary.
- Collects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
- Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying
of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers - Cleans and maintains floors and walls in kitchen and dish washing area by following standard
procedures. - Dispose of waste as per the hotel and authority standards and Adhere to recycling guidelines.
- Ensure waste bin area is kept clean and tidy.
- Following safety procedures for using equipment, disposing of waste products, and other
activities
Requirements
- Certificate or diploma in hospitality field with a work exposure in a hotel set up
- Previous experience in similar role (at least 2 years of experience) and Knowledge of Basic Food
Hygiene - Good communication skills
- Positive attitude and ability to prioritize.
