Our client, an International Telecommunication company seeks to recruit an IT Infrastructure Engineer.
Monthly Gross Pay: Kes 100,000
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain enterprise servers and perform hardware and software maintenance operations including installation, configuration and support of server hardware, software and data backup and disaster recovery
- Ensure all the hardware infrastructure for the cloud services is working optimally.
- Remediation or recovery of hardware issues on racks.
- Maintain documentation regarding network configurations, operating procedures, and service records relating to network hardware and software.
- Ensure the maintenance of appropriate backup and recovery infrastructure used as part of planning for ICT systems and services
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal system resource utilization, capacity planning, availability, reliability, throughput, goodput, and latency.
- Configuration, racking, and servicing of servers in the data centre.
- Identify opportunities and implements solutions for increased automation, reliability, and/or velocity.
- Troubleshooting and fixing all server-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunication or any other related
- Hands-on experience in setup and administration of cloud virtualization platforms
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data centre environment.
- Hand-on experience working with network-based storage systems.
- Good knowledge of Windows and Linux-based Operating systems
- Experience in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Windows HyperV etc.
- Experience in backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam
- Experience in troubleshooting servers’ hardware and LAN connectivity issues
- Certifications in VMware, Microsoft or Veeam will be an added advantage.
