Position Title: Network Engineer (Design / Engineering)
Description
Our client, an international company in the financial services industry, is seeking to recruit a well rounded Network Engineer specialized in design and engineering for a 1 year contract role to deliver a WAN connectivity project in several African countries.
The incumbent will be joining a tightly knit team with strong and diverse background in cloud infrastructure engineering, application development, traditional system administration, DevOps and cloud native technologies.
This is a unique opportunity to be deeply involved in the growth and evolution of the company's cloud platform, built by very talented people.
Responsibilities include:
- Initiate discussions with users to gather information about requirements and existing network.
- Produce network high level design for the whole project.
- Produce network low level design for the whole project.
- Produce standard and configuration template to be deployed to network devices (routers, switches, and firewalls).
- Produce implementation (integration and migration) plan from technical perspective.
- Work with Project Manager to come up with real world implementation plan.
- Present solutions and implementation plan to all stakeholders.
- Participate in delivering the solutions in early phase to ensure all the plan and design work as intended.
- Work with hardware/software vendors should any bug is found.
- Participate in troubleshooting and execution of network-related operations off-hours, related to this project, as required
- Produce handover documents
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, or IT related disciplines.
- 7 to 10 years of design/implementation/consulting experience with networks
- CCNP or equivalent. CCIE will be considered as an advantage.
- Hands on knowledge on routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Working knowledge in routing protocol such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, etc
- Working knowledge in Cisco and F5 VPN technology.
- Resourceful, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-functioning team as well as independently.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to providing support.
- Strong troubleshooting and deduction skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge on Ansible, Terraform, python or any other programming / scripting / automation tool will be considered as an advantage
