Field Officer Job Vacancy in Kenya - Association for Aid and Relief Japan

Position Title: Field Officer - Kenyan National ONLY

Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that reaches out to the most vulnerable populations around the globe. AAR Japan is to launch a new project of in-kind food distribution to address food insecurities in Turkana West Sub-County, from this November 2022. Therefore, AAR Japan is seeking for two Field Officers for the abovementioned project. The successful candidate will be on duty at AAR Japan Kakuma Office, which is located in Kakuma, Turkana West, Turkana County. The candidate will work under the direct supervision of AAR Japan’s international staff. The details of the position in concern are as follows.


  • Carry all duties under the direct supervision of the Project Officer;
  • Liaise with stakeholders (local authorities, local-led organizations in communities or other agencies in food security sector) to select beneficiaries, arrange food distribution points, develop distribution schedule and logistics, conduct post-survey to assess the impact of the project;
  • Support the Project Officer in necessary arrangements for the project, analysis and documentation of collected data, and any other assistance needed;
  • Draft a monthly report and submit to the Project Officer every month to report the progress of the project implementation;
  • Perform any other duties instructed by AAR Japan’s international staff or the Project Officer


  • More than 1 years’ experience in humanitarian work;
  • Work experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is highly valued;
  • Experience in distribution is highly valued;
  • Fluent language skills of English;
  • Additional language skills, Kiswahili, Ng’aturkana, or Japanese, are highly valued;
  • Team-work skills;
  • PC skills (Microsoft Office is a must)

Period (subject to change due to internal circumstances);

From 15th November 2022 to 14th June 2023 with 3-month probation period

Salary (Gross);

30,000 KES to 45,000 KES per month (amount will be determined based on experiences or skills)
