Oshwal Academy Mombasa is a private school owned and managed by Oshwal Education & Relief Board offering the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge Assessment International education (IGCSE, A/S and A’ Levels) and Pearson EDEXCEL International.
The Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced Assistant Teacher to teach in the Junior School.
Skills and Competence:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (Primary Option).
- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.
Experience:
- At least two years’ demonstrable teaching experience.
- Passionate about 21st Century teaching skills and I.T. savvy.
- Good intra and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable in modern pedagogy and demonstrable teaching practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Innovative and creative individual.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability and proven willingness to support clubs and other co-curricular activities.
- Ability to supervise and provide particular support for identified students.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement, progress and needs.
- Ability to undertake structured and agreed learning activities to ensure achievement of learning goals.
- Ability to set high expectations, promote self-esteem and independence.
- Preparation of the classroom as directed for lessons and clearing afterwards and assisting with the display of students’ work.
