Job Summary: To generate new business leads, develop strong and stable relationships, attend to quotations and negotiate with underwriters and clients to ensure business production, growth, and renewals.

Purpose of the Job: The jobholder is primarily responsible for identifying potential business leads and attending to requests for proposals.

The position will also entail developing strong and stable relationships, attend to quotations and negotiate with underwriters and clients to ensure business production, growth, and renewals to achieve set budgets which are aligned to the company’s strategic plan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting market research and prospecting for new clients for the company.
  • Planning and overseeing pursuit of marketing initiatives for new business and growth.
  • Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
  • Organizing and attending client meetings, and industry events.
  • Developing quotes/ proposals and presenting them to prospective clients.
  • Develop an annual calendar of marketing activities
  • Identify, target, and penetrate niche markets and create awareness of Insurance products within the niche market.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • A Bachelor Degree in Business or related discipline from a reputable university.
  • Professional qualifications in In Insurance and /or Marketing.
  • At least ten 10 years’ experience in Insurance sales and marketing.
  • Appreciable understanding of the insurance market, the prevailing business environment, and products by the competition.
