Job function

  • Manage distribution activities effectively and efficiently for IMS East Africa Ltd
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Compliance with local authorities’ requirements on distribution
  • Quality Assurance
  • Implement and review distribution SOPs
  • Maintain distribution records
  • Operations Management
  • Maintain distribution track and trace systems; SOLOPLAN and ONELINK
  • Maintain shipments PODs
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment associated with the distribution function
  • Generate delivery activity reports
  • Staff Training and Development
  • Establish training needs & commit to training plans for team
  • Health, Safety and Security
  • Implement established health and safety standards for deliveries
  • Implement security protocols for distribution
  • Is responsible for the site safety program and ensures that the environment supports the safety of all employees.
  • Maintenance of environmental management system
  • To ensure that all agreed EMS objectives as per the department are achieved in as far as is practicable.
  • To ensure that all Corrective Action/ Preventive Actions proposed on internal and external audits are closed out/ implemented within required timeframe.

Qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain or related field
  • Courier training and experience

Skills and experience required

  • Analytical skills, attention to detail.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Logistics/distribution management.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Budgetary and financial skills
  • Ability to interact at a high level with clients, senior management, and authorities
  • Decision–making, problem-solving, creativity
  • Acquired good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand business process and be able to interpret business needs.

Other requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Positive, confident, self-motivated, and able to work as a member of a team
