Human Resource Officer Job Vacancy in Kitengela, Kenya

Our client is an oils manufacturing company at the EPZ, Kitengela.

They are seeking to recruit a highly ambitious candidate to fill in the following position in their office:

Job Title: Human Resource Officer

Job Summary: To manage the delivery of efficient human resource services across the company’s functional areas to ensure the departments receive real-time human resource services in line with established policies and procedures

Main Responsibilities of Job

  • Contribute to the development of human resource plans and strategies aligned to the Company’s overall business strategy;
  • Participate in the development of Human Resource Management policies and procedures;
  • Carry out demand and supply forecast of manpower requirements for the departments and design human resource action plans to bridge staffing gaps and deal with surpluses in consultation with the Management;
  • Ensure all elements of the human resources cycle i.e. manpower planning & establishment, recruitment & selection, employee & industrial relations, staff welfare, training & development, career and performance management, compensation & reward, and exit management are effectively implemented across all the departments;
  • Ensure review of job descriptions, specifications, and grading in line with job scope and dynamics in liaison with user departments;
  • Ensure new employee data is correctly entered into HRIMS and payroll;
  • Facilitate implementation of the performance management system and prepare appropriate monitoring tools to sustain continuous performance measurement across all departments;
  • Ensure collection and compilation of training needs arising from the appraisals for all departments and put together a training calendar and circulate it to the HODs;
  • Provide advisory and support services to line managers in administering Company’s policies on disciplinary issues, conflict resolution, grievance handling, and other people management matters;
  • Participate in organizational development activities in the Company to ensure that the departments are optimally structured to deliver the overall corporate strategy;
  • Analyze work processes in the Company’s departments and recommend improvements where necessary to ensure efficiency and optimal productivity;
  • Manage end-to-end disciplinary process including documentation; reporting to management and implementation of the approval outcome;
  • Review all staff contracts on a need basis and ensure they are aligned with the Company’s policies and Employment act; and
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, occupational health, and safety standards across all departments in the Company.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution;
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the HR Profession with at least four (4) in the manufacturing sector;
  • Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM);
  • Must have demonstrated ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects, and relationships;
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate departmental goals;
  • Should have effective people management and conflict resolution skills;
  • Must know the use of MS office packages; and
  • Knowledge of Corporate reporting.
