Jamii Sacco Human Resources Manager Job Vacancy in Kenya

Jamii Sacco is a Deposit Taking Sacco (DTS) registered under the Cooperative Societies Act Cap 490 (Amended 2004) of the laws of Kenya and licensed by SASRA.

The objectives for which the Society was established are to organize and promote the quality of life of the members by providing quality financial services.

The following position is vacant and the Sacco would like to fill:

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Grade: J-D1

Department: Human Resources

Job Type: Contract – Three (3) Years renewable on performance

Location: Nairobi

JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the CEO, the job holder ensures overseeing, managing, procuring, developing and maintaining competent human resources in the SACCO and ensures the availability of the right people are on the right jobs to achieve organization goals.

Overseeing office administrative services, security services as well as support services.

FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED

The Job holder is responsible for:

a) Attainment of effective utilization of human resources in the achievement of organizational goals.

b) Establishment and maintenance of a sound organizational structure and desirable communication relationships among all the members of the organization.

c) Provision of adequate and equitable reward system to satisfy individual and group needs.

d) Maintenance of good employer-employee relations.

e) Provision of training and development programmes.

f) Provision of various employee services to sustain/improve the wellbeing of employees and their dependent’s health.

g) Satisfaction of constitutional requirements for addressing disadvantaged persons/groups by providing employment opportunities to women and marginalized sections of the society; and creation of a favorable work environment.

h) Office administrative and support services, and

i) Security services including the prevention, detection, and investigation of cases of theft, fraud or any malpractice against the Board’s property or third-party property under the custody of the Board and ensuring compliance with the laid down security policies and procedures and to formulate new ones in line with emerging security threats.

j) To prepare and submit monthly reports.

k) Any other duties as may be assigned by a CEO.

IMPACT OF RESULTS

The key results of the role have an impact on the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Society including improved performance and service delivery.

A well-run HR and Administrative function impacts on the Sacco’s ability to attract and retain quality people and attainment of organizational, departmental and individual objectives

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field (A relevant Master’s Degree an added advantage)
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or CHRP – K
  • Minimum experience of 8 years with 5 years at Senior Officer Level
  • Membership of the Institute of HR Management Kenya (preferably a licensed HR Practitioner
  • Sound knowledge of labour laws and Employment Act 2007
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Good employee relations.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS COMPLIANCE TO CHAPTER SIX OF THE KENYAN CONSTITUTION:

  • Police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  • Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  • Clearance certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
